“The Pawnshop”

Walls

Boundaries

Definitions working within

Finding a meaning to limits called sin

Waiting with patience for hope of dawn

Knowing the pattern is one path to pawn

In exchange for another treasure to win

Only to keep until Father Time steps in

There is no meaning to that which others define for us. Truly, we must search within. Yes, there is always hope in the promise of a new day and that is our treasure.

Wonderful write, LaVancia. I always enjoy reading a piece that causes me to ponder.

    • Thanks so much for your sincere compliment. I don’t really write poetry any longer and am in the process of writing the “research paper” on schizophrenia now; reminds me a lot of my college days…only I’m older and slower…lol Thanks again!
